The young ensign allowed himself a sigh of relief as the docking chief of the station came on the comm and said, “Docking permission granted, ensign. You are cleared to dock in Bay 2.”
This was the young ensign’s first flight assignment with the Liberty Police, and he had been very nervous the whole way through. He had learned to fly starships in the simulators, but had never before flown a real ship, out in space. His parents on Los Angeles

After only two hours of sleep due to insomnia, I awoke at 4:15 AM to gather my crew stuff, grab a Full Throttle and a PowerBar for breakfast, and hop into Seth's car to get to practice by five.
We arrived and followed the usual routine of getting the boats out, going down to the beach, and launching, and we did a leisurely 3 laps (15k) which only the B boat ballas finished. Practice ended, I left, and then went to Robek's with Seth and Andrew. Then I went to work for seven hours and Seth picked me up at 3:30 to head back to practice.
